The society sector includes areas such as civil society and human rights, as well as media and related professional fields. It can be represented by a broad spectrum of specialists from grass-roots initiatives to (temporary unregistered or institutionalized) non-governmental organizations and independent media outlets promoting democratic values.

An applicant from the society/media sector can:
- Organize a study visit to several professional organizations;
- Undertake a field trip ;
- Undertake an advocacy visit to European institutions ;
- Conduct strategic negotiations with potential partner organizations;
- Participate in an expert round table;
- Participate to a conference during which you will present a report or deliver a speech;
- Have an internship in a European or even international organization based in the EU.
Possible events that can be attended as part of the MOST+ program may include, for example:
The annual OSCE HDIM in Warsaw. Europe’s largest annual human rights conference - the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting - brings together hundreds of government officials, international experts, civil society representatives and human rights activists to take stock of how OSCE participating States are implementing their commitments in the human dimension. Over a two-week period, participants discuss developments related to democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms. This meeting is organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
Or the Minsk Forum. This is an annual international conference focusing on analysing and discussing political, economic and social issues in Belarus and its neighbouring countries. Since 1997, the Minsk Forum has been building bridges between Belarus, Germany and the EU as well as within the Belarusian society. It has become the largest dialogue event focusing on Belarus. The main organiser is the German-Belarusian Society. It conducts in Lithuania, Poland, Belgium, and Germany.
